Mobile/notebook connectivity

Can anyone tell me the best way/cell phone to connect my notebook to the net when away from home. I have a roaming ISP but often stay where no fixed line phone is available. I live in Adelaide South Australia.

if you are going to use a cell phone to connect you are pretty much limited to the cell phones that provide a modem connection kit. after that, i don't think it matters a lot.
