Untrue. Need an example?

The Facebook app for years was awful yet it was a success.

It appears that performance isn't a big a factor as you posit.

How app performance matters?

Hello sir. The loyalty of a customer is directly proportional to the performance of your app, and many researches cite the same thing. I have even written a blog on the same - Mobile app performance Reading it would definitely make you understand my point.

I'm an app developer too.

I read your link and it's too spammy so I disabled it.

Here's what I learned over the years.

1. The app must work first.
2. Performance comes next.
3. If an area works far too slowly, that breaks item 1 and needs to be fixed.
4. Only the newest of the newest app developers will go for what you share here.

Me? I've been at this since the 70's.

Performance of Whatsapp and others

Doesn't that bother a lot? When applications like Whatsapp can lack in performance sometimes, small apps that are just starting out would definitely make this mistake. And WhatsApp wouldn't be facing user abandon but one doesn't give a lot of chances to apps which are new and not very popular.
