Does it happen also in Internet Explorer , Edge (if you have Windows 10) and Firefox (if you have that installed)? If not, it's just something in Chrome.
For two days now this pop-up has been appearing on my chrome browser. I wasn't so sure how it got triggered, but I'm guessing it's when I checked out a website similar to artstation where people post their artworks and after a couple of minutes something popped out which I immediately closed. When I sent the same website to my friend, he also started getting the pop-ups the next day.
Here's how it looked like:
Mobifoth Pop-up
And this one is from my friend:
Pop-up 2
It doesn't appear constantly, but rather after 15 minutes or so. Other than the pop-up itself, we don't notice any other problems except slow pc performance and freezing.
Here are the options I've done so far.
- running Malwarebytes and deleting threats
- rebooting (after scan)
- blocking cookies
- deleting browser history, cache and cookies
Nothing seemed to work. I hope to be able to receive help from anyone who would like to lend a hand.
