MLB.tv No Longer Uses Real

Apr 3, 2006 3:55AM PDT

Just noticed that MLB video does not use Real anymore. Good choice, since the Real player is too bloated and useless nowadays.

I had a subscription before, but I hate Real, and don't want to install it on my computer, but I might have to grab that now!

Something I noticed
Apr 3, 2006 6:02AM PDT

I tried listening (Gameday Audio) to the Cubs game this afternoon on a Mac, and it didn't want to work. This makes me a very sad fan.

I had the same problem (Windows)
Apr 3, 2006 6:06AM PDT

I kept trying and trying, and after about 15 minutes of trying to load the Red Sox game, it finally worked. I wonder if something is wrong with MLB GA in general?

MLB TV

I had a brief problem myself with the Cardinals game. I believe it's because of bandwidth. The more popular games get flooded and they become hard to stream. Never have a problem with the Devil Rays.

Also MLB was forced by a contract to use Real until this year.

Which browser on the Mac?

Weird, since MLB GA supports Safari, Firefox, and Camino.
