Question

mkv to avi converter (must keep dual audio)

Sep 2, 2014 2:02AM PDT

Hi all,

I need a mkv to avi converter which keeps the 2 audios (dual), so I dont need to use any additional program
I use format factory but this software just keep one audio, you have to choose one.

Is there any program/s which have this feature?

Thanks and regards

Clarification Request
Odd request.

Since MKV and AVI are just containers, I can't see why one would do this. So changing containers doesn't seem to be any use at all, does it?

In fact, on many PCs, if I rename the file.MKV to file.AVI, it still plays fine.

mkv not supported on my tv
Sep 2, 2014 3:37AM PDT

I convert the video file to watch it in my tv, which doesnt support h264 codecs, (just divx or xvid are supported) and mkv files, thats why I convert them and need a converter allowing me to keep the two audios

Most smart tvs don't supply more than 1 audio stream

I wish you would have supplied details up front. Now we know some smart tv is in play and the rename does work at times with some Samsungs.

So with that out of the way, FFMPEG can do this. However I don't offer any support for that app. There are forums dedicated to that app.
