MKV files no sound HELP!!!

i just finished downloading a mkv video file but theres perfect video but no audio please help!!!

Have you tried playing different audio files in the same media player (also what player are you using?) What about playing a different mkv file?

Try downloading and installing the k-lite coded pack. It won't harm.

If it doesn't help, provide more details, including the link to the video you downloaded. That's essential, because a good solution can't be found without having access to that particular video.

I had the same problem with MKV file and only got the picture. Nothing I read worked. I decided to try a video player I use at work as I know it works sometimes when others didn't. This program is the free to download VLC Player. I just opened it in this and it worked great with video and sound. I only had one MKV file so I haven't been able to test it on others but I hope this works for others too.

another good one that I like. It's easier to change the aspect ratio and resolution than VLC.
