mistry icon in system tray

by JCS0 / November 12, 2014 11:14 PM PST

An icon has just appeared in my system tray! I have not done anything to have caused this. The icon is a light blue square with something in-determinable inside it. It doesn't show up in a scan of system tray files and doesn't respond to left or right mouse clicks.
How the hell do I get rid of this?
Thanks JCS0

Go into task manager, and delete all unknown processes until the icon disappears. The last one you deleted before that is the program that shows that icon. What is it?
Don't stop Explorer. That might cause a shutdown.

Just one more step. Move the mouse cursor over the icon since the System Tray has an oddity in that a process that ends may not vanish until the mouse cursor flies over it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
