Missing songs when transferred from IPOD to PC

I want to appologize if this has been covered before. I am very new to this and searched but could not find the answer.

I followed the instructions from this WEB site to transfer songs from my IPOD to PC using Windows to transfer the music.

Ipod is a Generation 3 and the PC is a Dell Laptop (new)

Everything went perfect except, about 1/2 of the songs popped up as duplicate file existed and did I want to Overwrite the existing song. I said no to each one. All of those that I said NO to did not transfer. I have about 2700 songs.

I do not know what created the (look alike files) but each one is definitely a different song.

Is there a way to override this problem?

SOLVED MY PROBLEM

I Kept looking through other threads and found the link to IDUMP site. Downloaded the program, and all my music transferred to my PC.
