Missing PSTPRX.DLL FILE

Jun 27, 2005 11:11AM PDT

When I open Outlook 2002 I can't open my email &
I get this error mess: MS Outlook: "Unable to open your default email
folders. The .DLL file for the information service couldn't be found, MAPI
was unable to load the information service PSTPRX.DLL. Be sure the service is
correctly installed & configured. Tried the support solution on ms.com
loaded the latest service pack 3, nothing happend.
I have no calander, contacts, personal phone book and can't send email keep
getting that same error message. Since this appears to be a problem with the
registry is there something I can remove to solVe this?

You don't tell what you tried already ("the support solution on ms.com" doesn't tell anything). Do you mean http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q293058/ ?

A variant on that solution: http://www.york.ac.uk/services/cserv/help/mail/access/outlook/trouble/pstprx_dll.htm (the york part doesn't apply to you of course).

If changing the settings on the current account or making a new one don't help, all I can suggest is
(a) repair Outlook from the Office CD
(b) uninstall and reinstall from the Office CD
(c) run Microsofts Office Removal Wizard in stead of uninstall, then reinstall

missing dll

Sorry I should have been more specific, yes I meant
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q293058/ I tried that option as well as the other option you suggested after setting the default. When I open outlook I can read the email from my Imap account but can't send or open any other folder including my calander, address book and contacts. I had already tried to repair and uninstall nothing changed. I am running o/s windows 2000. I haven't tried removing outlook with the wizard yet. Also aside from the missing dll message when I click on the other folders I get this message
Unable to display the folder. This is the root of an IMAP store. The root does not contain messages, but may have subfolders that do. Do you have any idea what this means?

Thanks for your help.

How did you solve it?

At least tell people how you solved the problem, when posting something like that. I have exactly the same issue and neither solution given worked here.
