Missing Photoshop's PhotoMerge

Apr 4, 2005 2:32PM PDT

Hello all,

I have a copy of Photoshop 7.0 installed on my PC.
I want to merge 2 photos into a panorama and I was told that this could be done with PS using File -> Automate -> PhotoMerge function. Not only I can't find this function, when I typed the following words in the Help: PhotoMerge or panorama, nothing was found!!! PS does NOT even know what "PhotoMerge" is!

Am I missing something? I know I am missing PhototMerge, but am I missing something???

Thanx for your help in advance.

Frank

Missing Merge
Apr 4, 2005 3:16PM PDT

You can merge a scene with Adobe Photoshop without going to your so-called merge function, yet you have to know what you are doing and how to go about it. Many ways to do it. My Canon software will merge photos with the camera as well as in the software.

Just buy Photoshop!

Frankly, you have a copy of Photoshop. Not everything will be copied with a copy.
You are missing the original Adobe Photoshop Version.

Funkid7, You are right on!
Did you want me to explain the merge function within Photoshop to a PC Pirate?
Sorry, not me.
Really, if he wants to learn it, all he has to do is to go to adobe.com. Download a trial version of the latest and greatest. Just has to sign up with his email address and a password. Once that you do that, anyone is able to view Adobe's Tutorials. Simply fabulous for all of their software.
Once you learn the software, simply purchase it without worry. Photoshop is the premier photo editing software in the world.
Funkid7, download the Photoshop 7CS tryout and learn it. I plan to do the same also. I am presently using V6.
Three years ago I downloaded V5 Tryout on a PC. Used it and learned about it. Really helped me.
Now that Adobe has tutorials on their software, why wouldn't you want to learn everything that you can?
Great idea from Adobe.

Off-Subject: Funkid7, I viewed your art: Metal Guy on Renderosity.com. Wild site and really some of the best art I have ever seen. Try to look up Wanda Burns?s art on Renderosity. Or, wcburnsart.com
Her art is unbelievable. You or anyone else will love it. Amazing talent this woman has.
Funkid7, stay in touch. Use your email.

Where the heck have you been???
Missed you. Have you completed your schooling?

Kiddpeat and Grim have been through a year of college. I should join them also at continuing education. Same as what you are going through also.

Get back on this forum and clue us in on what is going on.
In-Design? How is that going with you at your workplace?
What other courses are you taking?

Funkid, please get back to us on this Graphic Forum.
Others would like to know why graphic professionals go back to college.

Photoshop Photomerge (where is it?)
Nov 18, 2005 4:30AM PST

Please no flames.. I have a full Adobe Creative Suite (academic version) purchased directly from Adobe. It is registered. I want to merge some photos. The Instructions say to go to File>Automate>Photomerge. There is no >Photomerge option when I go to File>Automate. I called Adobe, they want $40 for me to be able to ask the question: How do I access Photomerge? Any ideas?

(NT) That feature is not in PS 7.

It's in CS or later or Elements.

I have the Academic version of the CS2 creative suite and Photomerge is also not where it's supposed to be. What gives?

I have the educational version of the entire CS2 suite.

Photomerge is in the file=> automate menu near the bottom.

If it's not there, contact Adobe tech support.

Not there...

I can't speak to the educational versions of photoshop but if I recall correctly photomerge wasn't an option till CS2. That's the same time they added niftyness like warp in the transform menu. btw: that's handy for making otherwise flat images look like an actual brochures etc. Here's an example of what I mean.

oops didn't mean to get off topic... I don't think they put photomerge in till CS2.

Photomerge is present in CS.

It was a new feature in that release.

Photomerge

Kiddpeat. I do not have CS or CS2. Just Photoshop V7.
If photomerge is missing from a COPY that is the reason.

The original disk has to be purchased. Not copied.
KP, you are lucky to purchase an educational version of this.
A TRUE version.
You know, that is another reason to go and sign up for continuing education here in MA or any other state. My education will be free here in MA because I am over 60 years of age.
Plus I can purchase CS2 at an educational discount from any State college in MA.
Same as you use.
Ahhhh, Shiver me timbers!?to the original poster.
You have to purchase from Adpbe. NOT steal it.

I really don't understand why more people do not sign up

for classes. My original copy of Photoshop was bundled, at a good price, with a scanner. I kept that one right up through CS, and still have it on my computer.

The upgrade price for the CS2 Suite, especially with an eucational discount, was simply too good to pass up. Thus, I have the full CS2 Suite. I am constantly printing things to a PDF file which is enabled by the presence of Acrobat Pro. I have also used Illustrator a bit, and hope to do more.

I suspect we have more thieves here than we realize. That's why they ask us instead of tech support.

BTW, I see Apple has been hit twice in as many days.
Aug 24, 2006 2:03PM PDT

First $100 million for 'borrowing' Creative's technology, and now the recall of notebooks likely to catch fire. I'm also continuing to hear about Apple being vulnerable to viruses, but trying to cover that up.

Fire Alert with their Sony Batteries
Aug 25, 2006 2:16PM PDT

KP, Happened before with Apple. About a year and a half ago.
Lots in the news for the last two days about batteries in power books and notebooks catching on fire. Not just Apple.
Maybe Sony installed a FIRESTARTER ROOTKIT in their batteries?
That would be poetic justice for Sony. HA!! :

Sign up for continuing education
Aug 24, 2006 4:21PM PDT

KP, Sure makes sense.
My wife had a CL status at a private college. Costs us thousands for that education. However my wife makes double my salary right now.

One of these days I will enter into continuing education with a State University. Not exactly sure of the course to take.
Adobe CS2, Acrobat and In-Design plus all the others are available with an educational discount.

Did not know that you were into Illustrator. One of my favourites to use for logo design. I will send you an eps file to view the original. In the meantime, an example as a link. Designed in late 1998, but still looks good to me. I do not have CS. Only V10.
The logo was for a car dealership in MA.

Have fun going back to college this semester.
And good luck,

Now to the thieves. Trying to steal photos and having only copies of a program in order to manipulate a photoshop file is just plain dumb.
Merging? Get the original. Copies will not work at all. Some part will always be missing from the program.
Want to ask us how to support Pirates? No thank you.
Ask Tech Support. May cost you more than the program to purchase legit.

Courses to take
Aug 25, 2006 1:45PM PDT

KP, Photography would be a good one for me.
I want to do better than I do right now with digital.
35MM was my thing before and maybe I will go back to my Nikon once again. Why do I see so many Pro Photographers using a Nikon?
Go to photo.net and see what the best in the world are using right now.
Other courses that would interest me is to take up a Medical career.
Maybe OBGYN. Lots of interest there and lots of money to be had.
Just kidding. :
