Missing MSCD001 driver (file)

Mar 1, 2004 4:29AM PST

I realize this is not a driver. Because it is missing, I am not able to reinstall Windows 98. I have partitioned and formatted. How do i install MSCD001?

Go to www.bootdisk.com, and download the program to make the bootdisk of your choice. Choose Win 98 with CD support. Then make that bootdisk, boot from it, and choose to install Windows. And on it goes.

Don't forget afterwards to:
- install motherboard drivers, if needed
- install all other drivers (video, sound, cd-rw, usb devices)
- visit Windowsupdate for security patches and latest version of IE
- add this site to your IE favorites Happy

Which boot floppy did you use to partition and format?
Also does your BIOS support cdrom? If so, just change the boot sequence to have it boot to cdrom first, then continue with the installation. If your system doees not support the cdrom drive from the BIOS (or CMOS), You would need a 98 boot floppy which does have the cdrom support to boot your cdrom.
