Question

Missing harddrive

Apr 3, 2016 1:59PM PDT

My computer does not detect my third harddrive. I open up disk management and it say's an unknown disk. My computer is an Lenovo K330B socket 1155 running three harddrives one western digital 250 gb, a Hitachi 2tb and a seagate momentus 7200.2 200gb. It detects the first two but not the Seagate Momentus. What's wrong.

High fail rates and such. Have you run a test on the seagate?

Missing Harddrive

what I did is put the drive back into my old computer and it worked fine was able to retrieve all my info. The computer I tried to use to retrieve my info is running Windows 10 and the computer which it came from was running Windows 7 64 bit. for some reason I've been having problems with Windows 10 recognizing older harddrives. I guess the harddrives have to be NTFS formatted instead of FAT32 in order for windows 10 to recognize.

200GB drives are now very very old.

If over 5 years, try a wipe and fresh partition and format but over 5 years? Time to retire it if the fresh wipe and do over fails.
