Missing buttons? when using Firefox

I'd bet on AdBlock Plus...

It's been the culprit in these forums quite a few times before due to overzealous rules, often coming through one of the blacklist subscriptions. Typically they try to block advertising images and block more than they bargained for. (Those are actually images, not buttons.) NoScript wouldn't apply as they're not inserted using JavaScript.

Try temporarily disabling ABP and see if they're restored. If so, try re-enabling but disabling any ABP subscriptions you have to see if it's their rules or your own causing the issue. Also, try a Shift + Refresh to force your browser to download a new copy of the images; the occasional cache glitch can also be to blame.

Hope this helps,
John

Yep, that's the image...

If you want to block the image ads from that server, try using http://i.i.com.com/*/ads/* instead of a more generic rule covering all images from the server. And if you have any other questions, just ask.

When did it change?
Jan 17, 2011 9:57PM PST

Hi JP, when did you first see this, and what changed on the computer then?

I tend to agree with John about AdBlockPlus. I've just installed it on my Firefox browser and made sure to subscribe only to the EasyList (English) filter subscription.

However, not sure about IE. Any new add-ons in IE?

Have you just re-logged into CNET for any reason?
