Missing All-In-One Center for DELL 922

Oct 10, 2008 7:11AM PDT

I've seen the same problem listed for the DELL 926 AIO printer - basically, having lost the Installation CD for my 922 I downloaded the most recent driver (Version "G21, A04") only to find, once installed, that the All-In-Once center is missing making it impossible to use the scanner.

I also tried downloading and installed the "shipped on CD" version of the driver (Version "G4A(English webpack), A00") but that didn't work either.

Eventually I tracked down that the 922 is based on the Lexmark X5270 so I went to the Lexmark site and tried installing the driver for that printer. The installation wizard looked pretty much the same until it tried to detect my printer and was unable to see it. Silly

I noticed a solution in the thread for this problem with the 926 that worked for others - it involved unplugging the printer, downloading and installing a patch that would "completely remove the printer from [the] computer" and then installing the latest driver. Can anyone tell me if there a similar patch that does the same thing for the 922?

Thanks, in advance, for any help

For the Abbyy Fine Reader program
Apr 15, 2009 5:39AM PDT

As for scanning, if you have the disk that came with the printer, then insert the Printer disk and stop it from running. Go to My Computer and double click on it. Look for the drive with the Dell disk in it. Right click on it, left click explore. Look for the OCR Folder. In the OCR Folder, there is an Abbyy Folder. right click on setup.exe, that's in the Abbyy Folder and left click run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.

Here's a tip

Make your website using Word or Open Office.

Save the document as a html document. Open the html document, click on view, page source. copy the code to the website and you will have the html coding. If you want to add pictures and images, try posting in the coding and scripting forum.

Dell AIO Printer Driver for Vista OS with INTERFACE
Apr 18, 2009 12:14PM PDT

Yes, it would be nice to be able to download and install a set of printer drivers for my Dell AIO 922 that actually has the screen interface that I used to have with my XP OS. I seem to remember going through this patch install-reconnect printer-install Dell AIO 922 drivers process a while back (and actually got the All-in-One Center interface!), but now all of that is gone. This Dell AIO user interface is actually necessary to run the printer scanner as well as other components (e.g., fax). I'm really not certain now what's in the Dell folder on my hard drive, but there's nothing that I can set as a desktop icon or anything that appears in my Start Menu other than an Uninstall program. Can anyone recommend a way that I can continue using my Dell AIO printer under Vista OS operating system (it came with my new laptop)?

32-bit drivers are in post 2. If you need the Vista 64-bit drivers, just let me know.

64-bit drivers for Dell AIO 922 printer
Apr 19, 2009 3:48PM PDT

Yes, it would be great to have the 64-bit drivers for my Dell AIO 922 printer. Does this reinstall the GUI for the All-in-One Center?

The Dell All-In-One Center is in the drivers package.

Disconnect the printer. Run the patch(from above post), a MUST on Vista machines, until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer.

Download the Vista 64-bit drivers for the 922 printer.

Install the 64-bit drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect the printer(powered on)

This will install the OCR program.

or

try this FREE OCR Program

Let me know what happens.

Tried what you said - still not working
Sep 23, 2009 3:47AM PDT

Hey Rick -

I did everything you said in Post #2 (patch, reinstall, etc), but the All-in-One Center is not anywhere on my computer that I can find it. Copying and printing works, but the scan button does nothing, and I can't seem to find the All-in-One Center anywhere.

Help!

Thanks!

Dell 922 All In One Centre not working
Jan 18, 2010 12:36PM PST

I've read thru this thread, my all in one centre is not working since reloading my operating system. I have downloaded the patch, but it has a ".application" extension and my system won't run it. What am I missing?

AOIC setup
Feb 26, 2010 10:30PM PST

I was having the same problem even after installing the patch and getting my printer to print. After installing driver, I had to install the All-In-One center separately. Find the driver folder (on my system C:dell\drivers\R151371) and open the apps folder within. The AIOC setup was right in there and after running it I'm scanning with no problems.

Dcom - thank you for the advice. I found this driver on my computer....for the setup. However, it will not run. How did you get it to run on your computer. I clicked open and run as admin, and neither one did anything.

Thanks!
