Not really sure what your point is, but perhaps if we knew who "Jason" was all would be revealed.
Also take it:-
"mis concept XP" = miss concepts about XP
"disenabling" = disabling

Peter
PS Also what is Win SE/XP (re: your profile).
Jason tells us what to turn on and off in msconfig for speedy operatioanl standards, and to a point I agree - ms.messenger for example. However, there is a serious problem with a number of component dismissals. I won't go in to great detail, but I've found the best way to speed up an average xp sp2 with 1g cpu sys(for example)is to shut down introduced running progs whilst online. Disenabling other services, like live update does make a difference, but only when it goes 'on line' to induct updates. A solution. Just make it run at 3AM for example...no prob - this applies to most msconfig's. Anyway, I went back to ME and FAT32 because of my XP Pro experience. But alas, I soon discovered for an overall performance and experience, dare I use the word 'experience', I found that xp is probably the way to go. The answer. If you run a system on fat, keep it on 98 variations, if you update to nfts you won't need to wonder what's goin' on.
