Resolved Question

Mirroring Windows 10 laptop to Gen 2 Amazon FireTv Stick

Oct 11, 2018 12:13PM PDT

Hi Everyone,
I'm having some issues trying to mirror my screen from my ASUS 555LAB Win10 laptop to my Vizio tv using my firestick. The best it seems to get is a screen image where the horizontal bars on the tv seem to be out of sync, creating an image where each bar is progressively shorter, showing the screen in a view almost like a parallelogram or diamond instead of a rectangle. Changing the ratio's, image size or orientation does not help. Does anybody have any ideas, or should I give up on the idea, noting that I've seen commentary that not all laptops can be used for mirroring, and Amazon lists only Amazon products available for mirroring? Any suggestions, links, or info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for the response Bob! You've confirmed my thinking on this. I guess mine is one of those that won't work right. I'll have to stick with the HDMI cable.
