Mininum Airflow...Quiet PC Tips

by xtuser / October 9, 2005 12:46 PM PDT

I was just wondering what is the mininum airflow I can have in a modern computer? If you are looking for a quiet PC, these are suggestions...

The quietest case there is is probably an Antec Sonata II, or a Lian Li PC-6070.

For the Antec Sonata, I would use two of these fans, one front one rear.

I would keep them at around 40 cfm, but if temperatures rise you can get them to around 100cfm.
Or, is it okay to just use this one?

For the Lian Li PC-6070 I think I would stick with stock cooling.

Do you think this fanless heatsink will work for an Athlon 64, or Pentium 4? I'm kind of wary about it.

You could use a fanless power supply, like this one, or a Thermaltake one.

A fanless video card. Gigabyte sells a lot.

Now, a motherboard without chipset fans...I was too lazy to search for Intel ones, but I think that all of Intel's own motherboards are fanless.

Do you think that this is enough cooling? will it overheat? Will it be stable? Opinions?
