Santa Fe, New Mexico, has a minimum wage that has been on
the books for several years. It affected all business with 25 or
more employees. It rose to $9.50 this year, scheduled to go to
$10.50 next year. The City and the business owners association
have reached an agreement. The minimum wage will be capped
at $9.50, with a cost of living adjustment annually. It will also affect
all business, irrespective of numbers of employees.
Cities and States can do things without waiting for the federal
government to do it for them.
