MinIDV Questions

Jan 21, 2006 11:51AM PST

Hello. I just bought a brand new JVC MiniDV camcorder. I am not at all happy with the quality of the recordings. I am recording my son's basketball games and the playback is all jerky and digital looking. I am very upset about this.

Is there anything I should be aware of with this?
I am recording in SP mode and using Nero to capture and burn to DVD.

Any suggestions are very appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you using USB or Firewire?
Jan 21, 2006 11:41PM PST

How are you connecting your camera to your PC? By USB or Firewire? If you are using USB, that's your problem. USB can't keep up with the bandwidth needed to capture full-quality DV video. Read around here in this forum and many people who have had the same issue as you have incorrectly been trying to use USB.

Using a Firewire

No, not using a USB. I used 2 different programs to capture the video. The quality was jerky at times. Not happy at all.
