are you looking to split the display port signal?

In reply to: Minidisplay Port DVI or VGA Adapter

there are splitters available, but need to check if they only mirror, or allow expansion of single scree across them too.

DVI doesn't mean it has HDMI signals.

In reply to: Minidisplay Port DVI or VGA Adapter

And the fact you want three displays pushes you to get display port displays or try USB video adapters.

Since the exact model of the displays was omitted I can't share an example USB video adapter. Please folk, add these details when getting into technical questions.

To me, the best solution is the usual Displayport monitor with an input and output for the next display.

certain about that?

In reply to: DVI doesn't mean it has HDMI signals.

Using Linux, one display I plug from computer HDMI to monitor HDMI port still shows up in xrandr command as an DVI.

There are now 5 or more DVI connection types.

In reply to: certain about that?

There's a Wikipedia on this and there have been DVI without HDCP which knocks out HDMI use.

This is why this area is such a mess. DVI, nice idea, terrible implementations.
