Mini USB Series B stuck in camcorder port, need to remove

Jul 24, 2013 10:07AM PDT

I tried to remove a mini-usb (series-B) cord from the usb port on a Sony Camcorder and the metal tip broke off and remains in the port as one piece, protruding slightly, with a metal squarish ring sticking out further, enough to prevent me from closing the port cover and flip the display closed.

Any suggestions on how to remove it?

I have a couple of artery forceps which I use for any job like this. They have clip and hold serrations on the handles making them very useful to clamp wires and as heat sinks when soldering sensitive components. ( Also good for training eyebrows)
