IEEE1394-to-USB cable? I presume you are trying to connect the USB-side to the Bloggie and the firewire side to the Panasonic DVD recorder.

The Sony Bloggie line-up records high definition MP4 video files and have only USB and HDMI connectivity.

In the case of the Panasonic DVD recorder (it would be a lot more helpful with a model number), I did a check of the current line-up at Panasonic's consumer area. The DMR-EA18K, DMR-EZ28K, DMR-EA38VK, DMR-EZ485VK and DMR-EZ48VK all say "Yes" to a "DV input Terminal" using a firewire cable and a USB port used only for still images or DivX video files... No mention of MP4 high definition video onto regular DVD playable discs. And these Panasonic DVD recorders won't record just "data files".

I don't think you can offload the Bloggie video to these Panasonic DVD recorders. They were not designed to do what you intend.
