"Millipede" Drive

May 29, 2006 12:47AM PDT

Anyone got any info about this "millipede" drive, otherwise known as AFM (atomic force microscope) data storage. My friends been chatting about it and i was wondering if anyone got some serious facts, like when it will come out, or will they make a 100GB ipod nano because of it (that would be sooooooooooooo sweet!!)

What i've seen of the millipede technology are mostly pre-alpha prototypes and proof-of-concept devices, might take it a few years to make it to market.

What a Shame

It is a real shame that it will take a few year, especially after my m8 said it should be out nxt year.

On the plus side, i will have worn out my 4GB ipod nano before i buy the brand new 100GB ipod nano!!
