That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this on the news this morning.
Course you all know about the Boston Marathon running on April 17, 2006. The day after Easter this year. Also Bunker Hill Day and I believe a Home Game with Seattle.
I did not know your Sneakers had to be approved by the sport's two major governing boards. I wonder who has the contract or what sneakers are approved. Thousands run in this race.
BOSTON -- A sneaker company is offering to pay $1 million to anyone who wins the Boston Marathon while wearing a pair of its running shoes.
But there is a catch. The shoe made by Spira Footwear could be banned in Boston because it has yet to be approved by the sport's two major governing boards. So the possibility exists that a runner could cross the finish line first, but then be disqualifed.
Texas-based Spira said the shoe is unique because it has springs built into its heels and toes.
