that the CIA has been run by military men before, yet the media act as though it was some kind of bizarre anomaly.

wrong with a former General running the CIA IMO. Believe Evie is checking on the list of those ex-military people who have been 'Head' or 'Asst Head'. I was replying to Mark's, "most of the intel is millitary run".

Inman was a Deputy Director.
None of this is told to the American people by the media.

There are many more if you count former Pentagon officials and all Deputy directors. As Ed said, to hear the media tell it, Bush had done some outlandish unheard of thing here!

College graduaes fresh out of school, people with much less education, ex or retired military and civilians from other Intelligence agencies.

The media and Dems dislike that the man supports Bush's wiretapping. Otherwise, there is no justified problem with the man's qualifications.

IMO, the objections to his being active duty is silly, and has no basis for complaint.
The gentleman is known to be an independent thinker, and to speak his mind.
He should be confirmed!!!

that the CIA's forebear was the OSS, a military-led intelligence department that collected intelligence during WW2.
