This would appear to be an incredibly simple matter but I'm having a hard time finding the right information. I am moving from an XP laptop with Outlook 2003 to a Vista laptop with Outlook 2007. What is the proper way to migrate my messages and contacts over? I originally tried exporting everything from 03 to PST files in order to then import them into 07, but that didn't work too well -- the Outlook 2007 on the Vista laptop is at the moment only a Trial version and I may additionally have screwed something up with the import functions when I uninstalled Business Contact Manager.
Whatever. I spent some time Googling until I found a site that suggested that migrating between two Outlook setups is as simple as locating the source Outlook data file and just plopping it down in the correct location in the new setup. So, two questions: (1) Is this right? And, (2) This tidbit assumed the migration was from 03 to 03 -- does it still hold for 03 to 07, or have the data formats or whatever changed?
