Question

Migrate whatsapp msgs from Windows phone to Android phone

Feb 10, 2015 4:39AM PST

Hey all!

I had a windows phone but I've purchased an android phone now.
I wanted to know if there is a way to migrate all of my whatsapp msgs, contacts and text msgs from windows phone to android.
Also, do i need to move whatsapp application from windows phone memory to sd card first so that the backups will also get copied to the sd card itself which i would be ?

Please help me out if there is a way.

Answer
For each app, each app's author needs to tell how.

There is no one size fits all solution except to ask each app's author for the procedure.

Some of the newer, better (some debate this) apps have all that in the user's account in the cloud. For example my Chrome apps, contacts and such follow me without trouble as I log into the Chrome account. Super they did that.

Copy your contacts to your simcard

You can back up your contacts to your sim card, and upload them again from the simcard on the new phone. That is what people are doing, when they change phone, and keep the same simcard.
As for the conversations, I have noticed that the one from WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram do not replicate, or synchronize, between my devices, which all use Android. Skype conversations seem to migrate well between devices however.
