But what upgrading to something better? Like Open Office at http://www.openoffice.org
I wonder if your hard disk has taken a dive or something else. Sadly there no clear clue in your post. Try telling more. Even if it's a little thing like all your system info, etc.
Hope I?m in the right forum, if not let me know and I will repost. When I open one of my ?existing? spreadsheets, in Microsoft Works suite 7.0, and I type additional info, and go to print from the printer icon, I encounter a problem. I am getting the following error message: Microsoft Works - Microsoft Works has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. When I clicked to get error report contains, I got the following: Microsoft Works, Error signature, AppName: wksss.exe AppVer: 7.2.628.0 ModName: wksss.exe, ModVer: 7.2.628.0 Offset: 0006663e. That?s it.
When I ran event viewer .exe, I received the following additional info: Source: Microsoft Works, Event ID: 1000, Type: Error, Category: None Description: The description for Event ID (1000) in Source (Microsoft Works) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message Dll files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE=flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: wksss.exe, 7.2.628.0, wksss.exe, 7.2.628.0, 0006663e
I went to the Event ID http://www.eventid.net/ site, but it was no help. I tried Google, but I didn?t see anything useful. I did buy a new printer, an Epson CX4800, two months ago, I seems to be working fine. I print stuff daily, for what its worth. This issue started about a week ago. I decided to do a reformat, just in case, with the obvious reinstallation of Microsoft Works, but to no avail.
As a final piece of the puzzle, I noticed that if I "save" on a regular basis, as I'm modifying the spreadsheet, I don't have a problem. I can print just fine. But if I forget to save and then click "print", I get my 'error' and all work is lost.

Thanks in advance for any assistance,
