Microsoft WORD's Tool: Address Book

I used to INSERT data from my ENTOURAGE address book into WORD documents on a regular basis. Now that handy function has ceased to work. From WORD I go to TOOLS ->Address Book; type into "Name Contains:" box 1 or 2 characters, then boom ADDRESS BOOK closes on me. Any further typing ends up in WORD document. Nothing is inserted from ADDRESS BOOK.
I can use scroll bar to spin through list of names in ADDRESS book and manually choose one for insertion, but, since address book contains nearly 1000 entries, that is ridiculously inefficient.
