Microsoft Word Deleting problem.

I want to delete a large selection of text from my Microsoft word text. Usually I would just highlight it, then hit delete or backspace but when I do this it does nothing and unselects itself. I tryed pushing the insert key, see if it was that that was making the problem. It wasn't.

Can anyone help me?

Try the other methods.

Instead of the delete key, Edit, Cut. Or try the space key or the backspace key. You may have a locked document or try my trip to saving it as an RTF, open it and the macros are cleaned out that could prevent deletion.
