Microsoft Word

Apr 24, 2005 1:20AM PDT

Hi
I just recently did a fresh install of Windows xp. I do work related documents in Microsoft word and save these to a cd-rw so they can be updated as needed. I would use the save as feature and it always worked. Since I have re-installed, I can no longer do this. When I try to save from word to a cd it says invalid function and something about my not having access or premission for this folder. I am logged on as computer administrator though. Wordpad, paint, etc will let me save to the cd-rw, the only thing I have found that won't work is Word and that is the only program I really need to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated because I am at a loss. I took Microsoft Office off and re-installed it without any success.

Fresh install of XP ?

That means you need to reinstall:

? Drivers, especially those related to your CD burner and the burning application for packet writing.

? Windows and Office update patches.

Try clearing out the .temp files.

Are you able to access a previously saved MS Word file from a CD-RW, then edit and save again ?
