But I solve this on other machines by setting some "USB Keyboard" (other words may be on that) BIOS option to Legacy, Enabled, Disabled or Auto setting.
Seems to help. Remember I do not own an Evo, know where it's manual is but wanted to share what I look for.

I just bought a microsoft wireless keyboard - model desktop 700. For the most part the keyboard works fine with one exception.
When I start the computer, it informs me that there is no keyboard plugged in. This is before XP even starts. I have to plug in a standard keyboard into the ps2 port to get the machine to boot.
Once XP has started, the wireless keyboard works fine. My computer is a compaq evo with a pentium 4 processor. It is a pretty standard machine. I do not have any other rf devices around.
Can anyone help?
