Microsoft windows: * Has stopped working.

Jan 17, 2011 10:22PM PST

Hello, i was wondering i could get some assistance here today. i just got this computer from a friend. it is about 3 years old and it has vista home premium :/

I have avira antivirus and spybot search and destroy for antivirus programs.

Here's my problem. just recently i have been just surfing the internet, and a screen will pop up in the taskbar that sais "Microsoft Windows" i click on it and every time i get a different message of either one of my installed programs or some other program that i dont know what is. saying it has stopped working, asking me if i would like to check for a solution online, (sometimes close the program, other times it said restart the program)

I will provide a screenshot of what i am talking about:

If anyone can help me, please reply to this. any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

Oh, i forgot to add.. after it shows the microsoft windows has stopped working page. every time is different, but it usually flashes a blue screen of death. it goes away in a matter of about 5 seconds, so i tried to take my phone and snap a picture of it. it didnt turn out too well, but it got enough of it, i believe. that photo is below:

also after it does this, it reboots and it keeps repeating... at random times doing it for random programs.

thanks

Have you installed any new hardware or updated any drivers recently?

See if you can boot into Safe Mode.
