Thanks for some help-
While working in word (I have XP 2000 version) I get a run time error which states Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime error!
Program:C:/Program files/microsoft office/office10/winword.exe
abnormal program termination
When I clik OK - The system recovery doesn't save the document and I loose info if I haven't saved it.

Try the usual cure first.

Delete all normal.dot files and ses if it starts to work again.

As to unsaved work, I think that a click of the save button now and then plus setting the autosave period is a great thing.

RunTime Error

Hey Bob,
Thanks for the reply much appreciated. I do save as I go but occasionally forget to, my bad - I also have the auto save on but when the program terminates auto save doesn't help. I must save and create a file or I loose everything.
Please explain what you mean - and how to delete normal . dot files? Can you further expalin why this occurs -
Thanks
SA

Just noting...

If I type...

delete normal.dot

Into google.com I see many articles that note this common cure. About autosave, set it to 1 minute?
