by rfeeny344 / September 30, 2005 3:58 AM PDT

I get an error page when I try to access Microsoft's Update site that says I need to install IE5---I have had IE 6 as long as it has been available--What am I doing wrong?

some pointers might be fudged a little so your IE6 is not recognized properly. Whatever you do, don't download IE5! just in case, let's try this first. Download CWShredder from here:

Run it. If you still can't get to the update site, reinstall IE6 and try it again. Let us know. It would also help if you could give us the exact error message.

and life goes on...

I tried re-installing IE 6 and was told that I had a more current version--The error message was, ''Thank you for your interest in obtaining updates from our site.

To use this site, you must be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later.

To upgrade to the latest version of the browser, go to the Internet Explorer Downloads website.''

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
