I'm a little bit concerned and maybe a little excited.
If the government decides to go with Microsoft on this one, then maybe their spying tactics will be destroyed...so, in that case, bring it on Microsoft.
But, I also don't want Microsoft in this business because..well...most major banks have computers, that use Unix/Linux, which is very stable...I think if I walked into a banks computer room and saw "Windows Mainframe 1.0" booting up...I'd crap a brick.
But, I don't have any money, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
I was just listening to the 1/24/06 Buzz Out Loud podcast regarding this story. It makes perfect sense to me. This is Microsoft's only hope of having the bloated Windows OS actually be snappy and responsive. At the current upgrade curve... the Windows OS it becoming more and more bloated at a faster pace then Intel processors can keep up with.
