Microsoft Takes Action

Nov 14, 2005 6:50AM PST

Microsoft just gave Sony a big slap in the face by updating their anti-spyware to remove the Sony DRM Rootkit.
I applaud Microsoft for taking a stand against this threat.

Yay Microsoft?

That's kind of funny. I didn't see it as "taking a stand against this threat" so much as "hey everyone, Microsoft is the good guy, sony is the bad guy" type of thing.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If everyone did the "hey look I'm a nice company" type of thing, we would all benefit. But I didn't see it as entirely altruistic.

Funny

I believe that there might be a little criminal/civil issue going on here. Would it not be funny, after all the measures which Sony and the music industry took against individuals for copying and then turned around a placed a malicious code onto unsuspecting legal purchasers of their music, if the tables were turned!!!!!!

Is there any on the forum who is a resident of the state of Georgia. Please reply!
