Microsoft Security Bulletin Advance Notification Updated

On December 14, 2004 the Microsoft Security Response Center is planning to release:

-5 Microsoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Windows
-The greatest maximum severity rating for these security updates is Important
-Some of these security updates may require a restart

No additional details about bulletin severities or vulnerabilities will be made available until December 14 , 2004.

The daylight for today Dec 14 in SW Texas is half over and I haven't seen anything yet. Am I missing something or expecting something too early?

JR, nothing in your sister state of Tennessee in Central Time Zone either. Guess either we are not getting anything or else Microsoft is dragging their feet. Wink

Jan. 6 - The Security Bulletin Advance Notification page will be updated to show to users some info about upcoming updates

Jan. 11 - The same page will updated to show more info (numbers of updates and/or whether critical or important update only)

Jan. 13 - Updates will be released.

I also have XP XP2 and Windows Update scanned and said I needed it so I installed it. IF Micorsoft messed up and we really didn't need it, it CAN be removed via add/remove programs in the control panel BUT I am 99% certain that we needed it so I am leaving it there for now.
