latest msft security essential updates (windows 8.1)
Oct 13, 2014 1:18AM PDT

I been getting lots of prompts to upgrade my pre installed windows 8 to windows 8.1 (free update) So first I decided to remove McAfee suite trial that was to run out within a week.. I than checked to be sure I updated windows security essentials/firewall and maintenance after i updated from 8 to 8.1 because prompt read 8.1 offered better security for my pc. I also, still use the free version malwarebytes and regular check updates before running a atti malware scan. Is it okay or can the malwarebytes conflict with msft security essential ? TIA, John

My thought on this.

I'd head to the Malwarebytes' forum and ask about conflicts. Here I haven't seen a problem but I'm on 8, not 8.1 as this one is from the office and we are working apps so I don't change the OS in the middle of a development cycle.

The others at the office made the leap and it's fine. However we are still installing Classic Shell and have yet to do much with the app store.

yes classic shell was an option they asked upon the install

I could not imagine using windows 8 or 8.1 without the classic shell. I can not stand the term( store) I never cared to opt for a store full of apps. i won't fall for the shop till you drop for window apps even if the president commando said it is mandated under his latest terms law and order

New CEO at the helm.

He's done some good moves like Microsoft Office for the iPad. I'll take that bet it was ready for years and some former CxO was sitting on it.
