I am not a lawyer but the old system was to allow you to install on your desktop and your laptop. The idea is that you could travel with a working copy.
If you feel you must get a legal reading of the license I can assure you it costs more than another copy of the software!

I saw Microsoft Publisher 2010 on sale on eBay. The sales
information specifies that the software is licensed for use on 2 computers. Under
this type of licensing agreement, do the 2 computers usually have to situated
in the same household or the same business premises?
