Microsoft passport.Net

I used MS Money for about 5 years.
I have not used any of this type of software for the past couple of years.
I have purchased MS Money Deluxe 2006. I did not know that Microsoft now requires you to use passport.Net and that your bank and credit card information is now stored on their server.
I am asking this forum their thought on this passpot.Net and the security of MS keeping such confidential information on their server.

Microsoft has no business to accumulate this data. I will not store any of my info on another server. Entirely not necessary. I just bought a new laptop with money installed. When I started to activate i baulked at giving any info to someone else. Sorry, I will use another program.JDA
