I noticed it wasn't in my start menu,so I looked in Programs, and it was gone. Then,I went to Program Files in MY Computer, and it was gone.I've done system restore twice, and NOTHING.!It's like it just disappeared.I have a shortcut,in My Documents, that I used to use. When I try to Open from it,I get the Box with the Bang, and it says Cannot execute, error code000000080exe,or something like that. But like I said:it's not in the Start Menu,or the Program Files,or in All Programs so of course I don't expect it to open. Thanks anyway.

It's unlikely it's really gone ...

In reply to: No

but if you insist it is, we have to believe you. The thing to do now: reinstall it from the CD.

If you ever get an error message again, please post the full and exact details, and something remotely like it. That really helps finding out what it means.

My apologies,sir.
The gray & red box comes up and says:
OUTLOOK.EXE Application error.
IN the box,it says:The Application failed to initialize properly 0xc0000008.
Without sounding like a total moron, may I ask which cd you are speaking of.
Thanks so much for your valuable time, trying to help
a computer idiot,sir.

In reply to: Sorry.

That's a rather unclear error message.

Things to try, in this sequence:
1. Make a new Windows account and start Outlook. That shows if it maybe is a corruption somewhere in your account.
2. Disable all Outlook add-ons (the exact way to do that might depend on the version: 2000, XP, 2003, 2007). See if that helps.
3. Disable you firewall. See if that helps.
4. Scan for malware using MBAM and SAS (SuperAntiSpyware).
5. See what happens if you run Outlook in Safe Mode.

In reply to: Thanks.!!

That's strange. You write you get an "OUTLOOK.EXE Application error." That shows there is an outlook.exe somewhere, doesn't it?

Keep searching.

By the way, the CD I meant was the MS Office CD you used to install the program originally. I don't expect that a repair install (or uninstall and reinstall) will help, but it won't harm either. If it's really gone, then reinstalling it should make a big change.

Have several cd's that came with comp.Office isn't in there. The original XP install cd is there, and some sound blaster, and Drivers cd,but I am not gonna put in a cd that doesn't say what it is that I would like to re-install specifacally.Went looking in folders, and came up with Microsoft office, and Outlook(although they aren't anywhere to be seen),and I tried to OPEN both, but, alas, wouldn't open anything. Thanks for your suggestions, and your time. One of those computer things, that I'll get used to living without(not the first time). Thanks again, chucker.

In reply to: thx

If you don't know how it came on the PC, it's kind of a mystery. Could it be a trial version that expired?

Not clear what exactly you found, and what exactly you tried to 'open'.
