microsoft outlook express error...

Hy everyone, i've came across this forum regarding IT problems, and though that you could help me in a situation that i've never came across before.

First of all my outlook express each time i'm sending/recieving e-mail keeps telling me that "errors have occured while processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of error below for more details". Well so far so good BUT when i take a look at "the list of error, i can't see any errors on that list (practicaly it doesn't show any error).

Second of all, when i send an e-mail the reciever, get 2 e-mail instead of one, or 4 instead of 2, and so on...

what sugestions you guys/girls have on these matters? Sad

it's starting to bug me... Plain

tanks (in advance) Grin

What isp are you using?,,, etc.

Sending an email to someone is one thing. Also adding their name in the CC: also sends them another one. When sending emails out, I usually send them all out using BCC: you can send them to whoever you want but, the other people CANNOT see the others email addresses.

Also some isp's have a limit on how many emails you can send.

but I don't understand the language.

Try a google search for and Outlook Express or check with your isp to make sure your settings are correct. Sometimes it's a port number and sometimes it requires authentication. Hard to say at this point, but I'd recheck your settings.

I found 2 things.

In reply to: settings are corect...

Two things I'd look at are the Sent Items and Outbox DBX files.

Create a new folder in OE and name it Old Sent
Move all the mail from the Sent Items to the Old Sent folder.

Tools | Options | Maintenance tab
Press the Store Folders button and note the location of the message stores
(DBX files)

Close OE

Open Windows Explorer

If you haven't already done this part to make the DBX file visible from
their hidden default:
Tools | Folder Options | Views tab
Select "Show all files"
Uncehck "Hide file extensions for known file types"
Click Apply then OK

Now, go to the folder you found in the Store Folders dialog.
Delete the Outbox.dbx and the Sent Items.dbx files.

Restart OE and send a test message to see it if cures it.
