Microsoft Outlook 2007 - Compatibility with older email prog

Apr 23, 2007 6:59AM PDT

Hello! I recently switched to Outlook 2007, and I've been noticing recently that when I reread sent text in emails that come back to me (i.e., what I wrote to someone), it looked fine on the screen but in the copied text had strange characters, usually in addition to the text as shown in the Sent Mail (not replacing any text). Any ideas?

It would be interesting to know ...

how your original mail printed with those people.

And it might be interesting to know also what this strange characters are, but I assume you can't tell. But a look in the source of the mail might be very enlightening. A thorough study would require that you compare the inner details of your sent mail, the received mail and the returned mail.

Thanks!! - Actually, no printer right now, so I can't try that. Without guessing too specifically as to the language, the characters are capital letters with extra symbols - accents, degree sybmols, etc.

"no printer right now" = Big clue.

Microsoft Office programs RENDER using not only the video driver but the printer driver as well to get a WYSIWYG display. If you didn't install a printer then you will see oddities.
