Hi
I am having problems with office xp i have tried to reinstall it but keep getting a problem,
The patch could not be opened verify that the patch exists and that you can access it, Or contac the application vendor to verify that this is a valid installation...
Proret.msi is the patch that can not be found.
It is a original copy not a fake
hope that someone can help me
Thanks
Merryn

I didn't think it was a trial version.

My thought was that a trial or other version was on the machine before you installed Office XP. If English is not your language please tell so I'll expand on this. Please use the web link I offered to see if any of the other usuals apply.

Also if you installed antivirus or "protection" software I'm finding those do interfere. This is turning out to be a goldmine for the shop since we'll have people showing up that won't uninstall the antivirus/protection software at the counter. We'll do that for them and make a few hundred. Sadly the advice was free. Can you explain their behaviour?

If there is a dead Add/Remove item you could
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / August 11, 2008 11:32 PM PDT

Have found the issue. Manually removing old software is more art than science (for some) as I delete it's install directory, then go get ADD REMOVE PRO to remove the item's entry in Add, Remove Software.

Sometimes I'll have to search the registry as well but not always.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
