How do I permanently set the percentage to 115% (the font size or zoom rate). I want this to be already set when I start every document. Also, I want to permantly set the document view to normal. Where can I go to do this? Thank you.

Permanent settings in Word.

To start with:
- find your default template normal.dot (using Windows Explorer, it might be necessary to change the settings for system and hidden files and extentions to find it) - most likely it's in C:\Documents and Settings\<yourusername>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates or quite nearby
- open that file in MS Word
- change the settings as you want
- save it again (be sure to select "as template")

Quite a lot of behaviour of MS Word is defined in this file. But not all, so it's a surprise what happens.
