microsoft office installation

I had problems with my office 2000. (When I tried to open a file it was changing my file. So I uninstalled the office 2000.
When I tried to reinstall it again I get the following message
E:\SETUP.exe is not a valid win 32 application
I have windows We.
How do I install office 2000 ??
I cannot read any of my word files now

Sounds like some pest, virus or other infection.

You may have to cure the infection first.

If you can't install MS Office, try OPEN OFFICE (google that).

open and close the cd tray a few times with the disk in there, make sure you hear the sound like a jet taking off from the cd drive so you know its reading the disc (might need to reboot too) this happens sometimes with poor quality or old drives.
