How did you deal with drivers not supplied by Microsoft for the motherboard and other components?
Also since it worked before what did you do different?
I have a new problem that has just surfaced. I did a clean install of Vista and can't get my Palm Treo 700w to sync through Microsoft Mobile Device Center anymore. It's really odd:
When I connect my phone through the USB cable, I can get it to show up on "My Computer" and can even explore the contents on the phone.
What happens is, when MMDC loads up, it connects. Then I choose the option to "Set up your device" (so I can synch Outlook, etc) -- then it hangs for about 20 seconds, then I see the Synch screen for Outlook and IMMEDIATELY my phone disconnects and this window pops up: "Your device has been disconnected from the PC. Please reconnect the device to complete setup." ARGH!
Now my phone isn't connected, and if I attempt to try this again, MMDC kicks me off at the point with that error each time.
I've tried uninstalling all of my drivers and all software connected with MMDC, then re-installing it all a few times with no luck.
What's bizarre is that I CAN navigate on my phone through file explorer --it's just an MMDC issue.
I also did a HARD reset on my Treo and I STILL have the issue. I made SURE that Zonealarm had allowed total access to all MMDC-programs. I even shut down ZoneAlarm and rebooted into Safe Mode with no luck.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
