Jan 19, 2012 6:02PM PST

Last week a Best Buy employee told me that Microsft is discontinuing Works. Is this true?
Thanks,

If you buy Works 9 now, it will surely work on future Windows 8. So you should be able to use it for the next 8 years at least.
That being said, it's a mystery to me why anyone would want to buy and use it, because it's so incompatible with everything, while free alternatives like OpenOffice and it's offspring LibreOffice are free and compatible with MS Office.
