Created a slide show presentation with Powerpoint using charts from an Excel file. I copied the charts as links so that they would be updated as the data changed...... just as it should be. I then created a link in the Excel file pointing to the Powerpoint presentation....
If you created a second link to that Excel file, it means that you have updated the data in that file. Perhaps you have to repharse your question a bit for easy understanding. Which version of Excel and Powerpoint ?
Windows XP Home Edition
HP Pavilion, Pentium 4, 1.5ghz
512mb memory
Norton Antivirus 2003
Zone Alarm
I posted this query on the Microsoft Office forum a week ago but had no response - perhaps there is a Powerpoint whiz out there who may be able to help, so here goes.
Created a slide show presentation with Powerpoint using charts from an Excel file. I copied the charts as links so that they would be updated as the data changed. When I open Powerpoint and open the presentation, I am given an option to update the links before the slide show starts , just as it should be. I then created a link in the Excel file pointing to the Powerpoint presentation. The presentation loads OK when I click on the hyperlink but but I do not get the option to update the links. I am very new to Powerpoint and would appreciate advice on what I can do to force an update of the links when the presentation is opened using the Excel hyperlink
